Serafin Aebli

Serafin Aebli is a composer, and sound artist. His interests lie in the fields of installations, film, theater and contemporary dance music, and other multimedia and transdisciplinary fields.

Although he can play several instruments, his focus lies on loudspeaker-based music. He holds a degree in music and media arts from the Bern University of the Arts (HKB). He completed his master‘s degree in composition at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK) in 2022, specializing in composition for film, theater and media. His professional experience as a sound engineer, among others at the Theater Frankfurt am Main, enables him to combine complex technical set-ups with composition. Thus, many of his works live from the search for new, experimental sounds and the creative handling of sound-technical options and spatial sound. His 4-channel installation Fader was performed at Ars Electronica 2022 in Linz. With the theater piece Lèche mon Coeur, Serafin Aebli was able to perform as a composer and stage musician on various stages in Europe, such as the National Theater in Belgrade.
